GRM. Brainfuck by Sibylle Berg
Sibylle Berg is a writer, playwright and an activist with pEp (Pretty easy privacy). She is one of the supporters of the Charter of Fundamental Digital Rights of the European Union. Together with actress Katja Riemann and artists Nora Al-Badri and Heta Multanen, Sybille Berg read out a part of her novel GRM.Brainfuck at #rp19. It discusses surveillance dictatorship, the spread of fake news, mass manipulation and autocracy.

Die Reise unserer Gene: Eine Geschichte über uns und unsere Vorfahren by Johannes Krause
Johannes Krause is a biochemist with a research focus on historical infectious diseases and human evolution. On top of that, he is the director at Max Planck Institute for History of Mankind in Jena. His book Die Reise unserer Gene (en: The journey of our genes) shows how modern gene analysis tells the story of emigration of nations – without which Europe would be inconceivable.

Uberland: How Algorithms Are Rewriting the Rules of Work by Alex Rosenblat
Technology Ethnographer Alex Rosenblat of Data & Society explores how American technology ideology supports a future where any of us might be managed by a faceless boss. At #rp19, Alex Rosenblat presented her book Uberland: How Algorithms Are Rewriting the Rules of Work, which chronicles the stories of Uber drivers in online forums and in more than 25 cities in the United States and Canada over four years.

Thing Explainer: Complicated Stuff in Simple Words by Randall Munroe
Randall Munroe is a physicist, a walking encyclopedia of natural disasters, knows everything about Velociraptors and can complete a Rubik's Cube in less than a minute. His book Thing Explainer: Complicated Stuff in Simple Words is a masterpiece of ontology, a mix of hidden object books, How and Why Wonder Books and infographics. Munroe explains stellar constellations, ecosystems, rocket propulsion, engine schematics and much more with only the 1000 most commonly used words.

Sprache und Sein by Kübra Gümüşays
Kübra Gümüşay is a writer, activist and regular re:publica speaker. She has co-founded several campaigns and initiatives for constructive discourses, love; against hate, racism, sexism, extremism and right wing populism. At #rpTEN, she explained in her talk "Be aware, show solidarity and civil courage!” what to do against hate speech online. Her latest book Sprache und Sein explores the architecture of our language and discourse and how they shape our societies and public thinking.

Wenn Riesen reisen by Ralph Caspers
Ralph Caspers is a TV presenter, (screenplay) author and actor—he is probably familiar to many of you from the public children's television programmes "Wissen macht Ah!" and "Die Sendung mit der Maus" as well as the WDR science programme "Quarks". His children's book "Wenn Riesen reisen" contains fantastic short stories from everyday life—here he combines fantastic elements with realistic everyday situations.

Die Kunst des Miteinander-Redens - Über den Dialog in Gesellschaft und Politik by Bernhard Pörksen and Friedemann Schulz von Thun
Bernhard Pörksen is Professor of Media Studies at the University of Tübingen. He held several talks on our stages within the last year—from fake news to hate speech, including #rp19. In his book „Die Kunst des Miteinander-Redens - Über den Dialog in Gesellschaft und Politik“ he analyses, together with Friedemann Schulz v. Thun, the public discourse on climate change and populist simplifications. They show how the art of talking to each other can succeed in democracy.

A Burglar’s Guide to the City by Geoff Manaugh
Geoff Manaugh is an author, futurist and ex-Gizmodo editor-in-chief and is known for his holistic view of architecture and urban design. His book "A Burglar's Guide to the City" offers a comprehensive insight into the connections between crime and urban architecture.

Hasnain Kazim is a freelance author, journalist and political scientist, born in Oldenburg and son of Indian-Pakistani immigrants. His book “Auf sie mit Gebrüll! ... und mit guten Argumenten. Wie man Pöblern und Populisten Paroli bietet" provides advice for proper arguing and explains how to stop dull hatred and platitudes with good arguments.

Geben mit Vertrauen: Wie Philanthropie transformativ wird by Ise Bosch
Ise Boschis Senior Program Advisor at Dreilinden gGmbH, she spent many years being an active member of the board at Prospera – The international Network of Women’s Funds and As the programme manager of filia.die frauenstiftung she participated in building the first girls’ advisory council of a foundation in Germany, strengthening the voices of girls for selection processes of girls projects. Her book "Geben mit Vertrauen: Wie Philanthropie transformativ wird", written together with Justus Eisfeld and Claudia Bollwinkel presents ideas on how we can transform the power of money into the power for many and thus shape a humane society.

An Ecosystem of Excess by Pinar Yoldas
Pinar Yoldas is an artist, designer and researcher in the fields of posthumanism, the Anthropocene, neuroscience and feminist technoscience. She has been a speaker at re:publica Portland and Future Affairs. Her book from her art exhibition "An Ecosystem of Excess" creates awareness of our "Life in Plastic" and pictures posthuman ecosystems of speculative organisms and a new environment.

Copenhagenize by Mikael Colville-Andersen
In his book "Copenhagenize - the definitive guide to global bicycle urbanism", published in 2018, the expert for bike-friendly cities Mikael Colville-Andersen presents concepts and best practices from Copenhagen and other cities worldwide. Check out his talk at #rp19 on top of it!

  • Lage der Nation is the political podcast from Berlin with Philip Banse and Ulf Buermeyer. Together they discuss the daily political events of the past week. At #rp19 they were on stage for a special live episode.
  • The coronavirus update with Christian Drosten from NDR radio provides a daily dose of information and the latest developments on Sars-CoV-2. Christian Dorsten is a virologist and head of virology at the Berlin Charité.
  • In the podcast WIMAF - Wiedersehen macht Freude, Maria Lorenz and #rp19 speaker Nilz Bokelberg talk with their guests about films which they "perhaps once found great".
  • The EDUCouch podcast is all about digitisation and education with interesting guests from the industry talking about ideas, projects and their experiences. They were a part of Netzfest 2018 and of our re:learn topic at re:publica.
  • Sex Tapes Spezial: Auch Frauen wollen Casual Sex is a podcast with the two women Lotte and Lili. They talk about casual sex, female lust and desire. On #rp19 they had a panel discussing casual sex.
