Track Teams
In order to curate the re:publica programme in a balanced way, we have invited representatives of the communities, faithful friends of re:publica and experts in their field, as well as recurring speakers, to participate in shaping re:publica as part of our track teams, each consisting of 2-12 people. For each of the eight tracks, a "track team" is formed, which deals with the respective submissions—always in close exchange with the program team of #rp20.
Since we don't want to keep the track team members from submitting to the Call for Participation ourselves but want to prevent bias, we carefully check which sessions for evaluation are assigned to whom. The track team members then rate the sessions in their assigned track and post a comment.
We subsequently discuss the submissions with the track teams in analog and digital meetings to at the end create a short list. Trends and focal points are identified as well as gaps unearthed, which the program team then further curates. The assessments and recommendations of the track teams are taken into account and incorporated into the final curation.
The aim of the process is to achieve a more stringent programme in which beginner and expert sessions alternate, a balanced format mix per track can be offered and, at the same time, the balance in terms of language and gender is ensured.
Many thanks to the members of this year's track teams for their great support!
