#rp20 Call for Participation: The topic “On the Move”

on the move

Start. Stop. And in between? Movement! At times fast, at times slow. At times progress, at times regression. At times at the speed of light. The #rp20 topic "On the Move" focuses on "movement"—in all imaginable interpretations.

The universe has been in motion since the big bang. And while the earth rotates around its own axis at a speed of 1,670 kilometres per hour—and we with it—the universe and our horizon expands around us: Our lives are determined by data and commodity flows, transactions, and permanent fluctuation of information. We overcome great distances in no time at all, by video link or in a budget airline. We want to grasp and capture changes, trace and follow them: In sweatshops, migration "waves", rural exodus, networks (Internet governance) and other (cyber-)spaces as well as in our bodies, which even while sleeping, never really rest. Our lives are determined by data and commodity flows, transactions, and permanent fluctuation of information. We overcome great distances in no time at all, by video link or in a budget airline.

We get going—in dance, in art, in sport, in the current trend vehicle—completely autonomous or on two wheels. The topic "On the Move" invites you to perform, to sprint, to think, to confront, to claim creative space. For three days, we will seek answers to the questions of how we cross digital spaces when we return to the analogue, and how we experience reality with digital technology. How does our movement change by it, how does our perception of movement change? When and from what do we let ourselves be guided—through the city, through life, through the net?

From click, swoosh and swipe to games, gadgets and earth sciences to flash and mob, dance culture, particle accelerators and transportation design—we are on the move!

Until 15 December 2019, 23:59 (CET), you can submit your ideas, projects and topics to our Call for Participation (CfP). Whether talks, discussions, workshops or off-stage actions—our CfP offers room for your creative ideas!

We are looking forward to your submissions!
