Podcast Contest “Originals wanted”: Participate now!

In view of the great success from last year, we’re launching a second round: Together with Deezer we’re looking for new podcast ideas and formats in the competition “Originals wanted”.

From now on and until 7 June 2020 (11:59 PM CEST), you’re invited to submit your podcast concept and a short audio trailer on the competition’s official website. This year we’re looking for ideas reflecting an atmosphere of change, actionism and movement—in any chosen way—following our re:publica motto “ASAP — As soon as possible”.

A jury of well-known podcasters, journalists and representatives of re:publica and Deezer will be nominating five finalists They will then be presented to the public on the competition’s website. The final winner will be chosen by online voting and will receive a prize money and a professional podcast coaching in order to produce the winning idea. Once the podcast has been produced it is not exclusive to Deezer and can be published independently on all podcast platforms. The five finalists will also receive prizes like Bluetooth headphones by Teufel as well as a ticket for the upcoming re:publica.

Last year’s winner of the podcast contest was Maschallah!, a podcast about muslim lifestyles by Merve Kayikci and the author Katrin Rönicke. In May 2019 the two beat over 200 participants and published their podcast’s six episodes in November through Deezer.

We’re looking forward to your entries!
