Elizabeth Calderón Lüning is associate researcher at the Weizenbaum Institute - the German Internet Institute. In the research group "Inequality and digital sovereignty" she focuses on democratic deliberation of digital policy within the urban context and the notion of digital sovereignty as the individual and collective freedom and right to actively partake in the shaping of digital life worlds. As co-founder of the "Digital City Alliance - Berlin" she seeks to ensure a fairer and more equitable city for city dwellers in the digital age.

As co-founder of Common Grounds, she researches, consults and teaches on the topics of neighborhood participation, organizational development and networking. She develops and publishes learning material for local initiatives, administrations and other organizations to support innovative cooperation between different stakeholders.
